Student visas allow you to live in Australia for the duration of your course of study. You’ll need to prove that you’ve been accepted for a legitimate educational tuition before you can apply for your visa. Of course there are other requirements for eligibility to be taken into account, such as your health and good character, that you are able to meet the financial obligations of your tuition and living costs and that you have Overseas Student Health Cover. To be employed as a temporary or permanent skilled worker, you need a valid visa with the appropriate authority to work.
